Micanopy Area Cooperative School is a FREE charter school located in beautiful, historic Micanopy, FL. We have Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. The school is located twenty minutes south of Gainesville.
MACS offers the following benefits for your child and family:
- FREE before school care with morning activities: Morning Mile, Homework Help and morning clubs.
- After school care provided by Blue Wave Afterschool Program
- Offer onsite cooked breakfast and lunch as part of the National School Lunch Program
- Daily PE, including N.A.S.P. Archery and RadKids Instruction
- Weekly Music and Art classes
- Daily Recess
- FREE VPK program
- Small, family friendly environment
- Active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), hosts a variety of family engagement activities such as S.T.E.A.M. Night, Talent Shows, Founder’s Day, Color Run
- Active Board Advisory Committee (BAC), composed of steakholders who plan with the school administration school improvement.
- MACS will be serving 7th and 8th grades in coming years.
